Pete Fountain and Al Hirt, adored by Orleanians achieved national acclaim in the sixties. Local television found it's own niche and viewers by the thousands watched and listened to Nash Roberts, Mel Leavitt, Terry Flettrich, Bill Monroe, Alec Gifford, Al Shea, Wayne Mack, Buddy Diliberto and Hap Glaudi, And there was Morgus the Magnificent. On WSMB radio it was the Nutt and Jeff Show, people tuned in while having breakfast, a sure way to start off the day with a laugh.
